About the Authors

George Robert Fosty

George Robert Fosty is a Canadian historian and documentary filmmaker currently living in New York City. He was born in 1960 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. In 1980, he received a Diploma in International Law from The London City Polytechnic, London, England. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1985. In 1991 he was awarded a Master of Arts in History from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas. From September 1990 to November 1991 he worked as a Military Historian (GS-7) within the United States Office of Personal Management under special contract to the United States Department of Defense and the United States Air Force, Sheppard AFB, Texas.

While at Sheppard he authored numerous articles on the USAF, helped create two temporary museums (in conjunction with Sheppard 50th Anniversary celebrations); served as a historical consultant on three locally produced television documentaries; and co-authored the award-winning book: Sustaining the Wings: A Fifty Year History of Sheppard AFB. In addition, he is a co-author of Splendid is the Sun: The 5,000 Year History of Hockey.


Darril Fosty

Darril Fosty is a Canadian historian and documentary filmmaker currently living in Seattle, Washington. Though he was born in Terrace, British Columbia, Canada in 1968, he spent much of his youth in Kamloops, British Columbia. He studied History and Journalism at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 with a concentration in North American, Native North American, and Post-French Revolutionary European history.

Upon leaving university, he worked in sports journalism writing game summaries for the Seattle Sounders Professional Soccer Team for distribution over Associated Press Wire Service. For the past nine years he has worked in the computer technology industry throughout the United States and Europe. He is the co-author of Splendid is the Sun: The 5,000 Year History of Hockey.
